Thornaby & Barwick Medical Group

"Providing Healthcare to the Communities of Thornaby and Ingleby Barwick"

PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP

The Thornaby and Barwick Medical Group Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a virtual group which will be establishing your views and your opinions on your GP Practice. We are also seeking individuals who wish to become part of the virtual Patient Representative Group (PRG).

What is the purposes of having a PPG and PRG ?

The purpose of the PPG is to provide you (TBMG patients) with an opportunity to be involved with the how your GP Practice is run and for your views to be heard. The PRG will be consulted on a more regular basis and will have the opportunity to review and provide feedback on the TBMG action plan, as a representative of all TBMG registered patients.

Why Virtual Groups?
Virtual groups enable patients to participate in providing feedback without having to visit the Practice, at a time and place most suitable for you.

Why every other month?
Each survey will have a specific theme, i.e. wait times for appointments, opening hours, Reception Services and the  Clinical Services provided by the practices. Running surveys every other month will allow us to publish the results during the months in between.

What if I don't have access to the internet?
Hard copies of each survey will be available from the Reception of both Thornaby & Ingleby Barwick surgeries.
If you become part of the PRG hard copies of any electronically circulated communications will be made available.

How do we know we're making a difference?

In the month following each survey, the results and resulting actions will be included in our development plans. The action plan will be reviewed and implemented by the Patient Representative Group.

I want to be part of the PPG and/or PRG?
Fantastic! Send an e-mail to matthew.lovell@nhs.net, who will then keep you informed as to when the next survey is available, and / or inform you of how to become a representative of all patients registered with the practices.

I have an idea for a theme?
Excellent! Please e-mail your suggestion of a theme to matthew.lovell@nhs.net or write it down on a piece of paper and hand it into Reception.

Please note that the Thornaby & Barwick  Medical Group Patient Participation Group (PPG) has no links to the provision of any clinical services. The e-mail address provided is purely for the purposes of registering to receive e-mail updates regarding the PPG, enquiring about the Patient Representative Group (PRG) and suggesting survey themes.
